Any suggestions of colours welcome.

Kitchen will be a dark midnight blue (slightly charcoal look in some lights). Warm oak colour Karndean floor and white work surface wjth grey veins. Chrome knobs. Want a pale wall but not white. Blue morrocan tile splash back just behind the hob. Thoughts?

Rock salt or white mist - dulux

MunsteadWood · 05/09/2019 18:46

F&B Ammonite also lovely

dottyblanket · 06/09/2019 10:06

Dulux Polished Pebble is a very light grey almost off white. I've got it in my kitchen with Dulux Stonewashed Blue on the accent wall.

Lightsabre · 06/09/2019 11:33

Timeless - Dulux. Looks white but when on the walls next to white, it's a very pale grey. It's very popular for a reason!

ladyratterley · 06/09/2019 11:36

I have Dulux polished pebble in my bathroom & it's lovely. Pale grey with almost a hint of lavender so it's not too cold.

Crown Cloudburst. Lovely light grey which could be a good foil for the midnight blue kitchen (sounds lovely!)

Farrow and ball slipper satin. Or all white. My 2 favourite colours for every room in the house

AllTheCakes · 06/09/2019 11:50

Dulux White Mist is white with a very pale grey hint. Works well if you want a white with a hint of grey.

Little Greene Flint

Thank you for all the suggestions. I think I've settled on (and persuaded DH to go with) a B&Q colour called Whistler which is an off white/grey towards the off white/blue family but it was a big job lot of testers to get here. I was surprised none of the F&B colours worked but in our kitchen they had a bit too much lavender going on for me. These are our cupboards, work surfaces and tiles to go with it 👍 The units are a dark navy in person.

Looks lovely OP
Just registering my vote : slaked lime by little greene . I've painted the kitchen walls, ceiling and window in it and it's gorgeous. Like a cloudy sky. And I love working with LG paints

IncrediblySadToo · 28/09/2019 21:39

Lovely combination 😊

Abraid2 · 28/09/2019 21:41

Another vote for slaked lime. My kitchen walls are SL deep and the cupboards will be SL mid when we paint them.

MiniCooperLover · 28/09/2019 21:51

I love the look of it on the internet but it's a tad too green to work with dark blue units I think?

Funnily enough, I have blue tiles and worried about this too, but it seems to work. Admittedly they are a thin strip and fairly pale. The tone of the SL seems to change a lot according t the time of day.

TiddleTaddleTat · 29/09/2019 11:56

Slaked lime isn't green at all in person, it's a very very pale brown if anything. Undertones are warm rather than cool (as in green)
I have SL mid with pale lupin (a dusky blue/purple) as suggested by little greenes colour consultants - really nice together

MiniCooperLover · 02/10/2019 10:29

Ok so I've been to get samples of slaked lime and slaked lime mid. Both look like very cool whites on my wall, but the kitchen is at the back and we are south west facing so at this time of day the kitchen is relatively dark. I wonder if I should have gotten a sample of slaked lime deep as well or would they be too dark? This colour thing is so hard !!!!

SL deep is really quite dark in comparison (and a muddy grey), are you looking for more of a grey than a white?
If you like little greene and are after more of a grey another lovely one I've used is called dash of soot.

Abraid2 · 02/10/2019 13:17

Here is SL deep on an east-facing wall.

That looks lovely and I think it may be more what my DH is thinking though I'm happier with the paler shade. He also wants brushed chrome light fittings so that's a good picture to show him, thanks 👍

F&B Blackened, it's a blue tinged very pale white grey.

TiddleTaddleTat · 03/10/2019 10:06

@Abraid2 beautiful colour with that lovely bowl you have displayed

marjolaine · 03/10/2019 10:30

If you’re wanting a pale grey, how about Sleeping Inn by Valspar? It's kind of light silvery grey.

Lightsabre: that's weird about Timeless for you. I have it in my living room after a recommendation on MN and next to the pure white ceiling and mirror frame it's creamy-coloured. I had it in the dining room too but it just looked dingy (North facing).

Abraid2 · 03/10/2019 11:17

tiddle 🙂
