Lincoln to live?

Can anyone tell me which areas of Lincoln are family friendly. Ideally with schools within a short distance and local shops. I'd like to be able to drive to the centre within 20 minutes and have retail park/supermarket nearby. Oh and public transport is a must with 2 teenagers.
Not too built up and not near flood areas.
I don't know the area at all apart from Xmas shopping 🎅🏼, but wary as you seem to be able to get a lot of house for your money. Smile

Does it have to be Lincoln or would you consider Newark? Train connections are much better from there- both Lincoln and Nottingham are 25 minute train journeys for good cities for teenagers. Access to the A1 is easy for travel too.

It has a cinema, bowling, lots of little shops and several supermarkets and a retail park. Secondary schools in the town centre are improving rapidly but if you looked at surrounding villages many children are bused to outstanding schools in Southwell, Tuxford, Welton and Bingham.

Nettleham (mentioned up thread) is lovely although there's been uproar recently as the bus service has has been cut (there are still buses though albeit less frequent)

Generally in Lincolnshire you will get more house for your money although there is a premium in some of the villages.
