Pondering doing this having found a plot we like, though can’t decide if I’m being seduced by the dream and the reality is major hassle for months/years....

Is there any way for it not to be massively stressful? Any tips-or is it just not possible...!

Watching with interest as a friend is considering building one.

Accept it will be stressful, take much longer and at times you will hate it - but, it will all be worth it. Enjoy it - you will probably never do it againGrin

It’s going to be stressful no matter what. But to make it less so the three main things are planning (in you plan what you want and then don’t change), your builder and budget. Unless you are getting an all in kit home I’d say most budgets seem to go 25% over at least. Project managing is a huge job so unless you are very experienced get a professional.
