Advice needed....

I currently live in my partner's house with our DD (who is 18months). I am not on mortgage and partner does not want me on mortgage or to buy a house with me in the near future. I am 38 years of age and although I have owned property before have not done for a few years and feel that I have no security for myself or my DD.

Do you think that I should buy a property in my name and rent it out? At least then I would be back on property ladder and hopefully will be a good investment. The only thing I'm worried about is the market crashing and me losing everything.

Any advice on what you would do or what you think I should do would be much appreciated!!

Hi Lolly. Can I ask why your partner doesn't want you on the mortgage?

He bought the property before we were together and I think he thinks that if we ever split up that I would want half but I dont! He has never said that is the reason but I think it is. I just want a little bit of security because he can ask me to leave the property at any time.
