And what type of child safety catch do I need to buy? They open outwards.

We have these. I don't think they are made anymore, not with the bottom panel opening out as they are dangerous. We have locks which let them still open, but not too far. They have a key.

Hi LottieCrackerton, we have just had new windows fitted, which push out like yours. However, any windows where someone could fall out of had to be fitted with “restrictors” i.e. upstairs bedrooms, and low set living room window, which stop them opening too far.
