Cost of new shower

Originally posted in aibu then thought probably better here.

Looking to get shower cubicle replaced. Have asked for quotes to rip out existing unit, put in two new wetboards, new shower tray, plumb shower back in, build and seal cubicle.

Have been quoted £1250 just for labour, seems excessive to me or aibu?

Any thoughts welcome :-)

My DH would charge that to change a whole bathroom like for like. Seems excessive. Get a few quotes. I would probably look at ordering materials yourself

That's about the same as I've been quoted by 3 different quoters

Thanks for the replies. It seemed a bit high to me. Am probably just annoyed as we had whole bathroom replaced two years ago but guy was a bit of a cowboy. Cost us a fortune and shower cubicle is already humped as he didn't fit it correctly 🤦

I had mine ripped out and replaced about 3 years ago. It’s a really good shower and nicely done. £3000 🤭 near London.

Had shower replaces recently plumber charges £400 for half a days work, thought it was a lot.
