Fixtures/fittings

I have long been wondering what the usual expectations are regarding certain things in a house.
So if you wanted to sell/buy would you consider the following things to be part of the house or something the vendors would take to their next place:

  • range cooker
  • curtains/blinds/poles
  • radiator covers
  • wardrobes (think Ikea made to look built in)
  • light fittings/chandeliers
  • solar panels
  • water softener
  • shed
  • green house
  • chicken run
  • catio

When we moved into our current house the previous people took all the radiator covers, light fittings (except the very cheap ones), no curtain rails. I was okay with that but my husband was raging.

Would you (have) pursued the vendor for any of the above?
Is there a general guideline on these?

I would take my light fittings, they're not cheap, rad covers if they fit in the new place. I def take my curtains, blinds too if they fit new place.

Built in cupboards no, range cooker again depends what's in new property.

This is what the fixtures and fittings list is for.

I was miffed at being charged for curtain rails. I would expect to be charged for a range cooker, blinds and curtains. The rest fall in the middle though I've no idea what a catio is.

If they take stuff they should make good though. Taking radiator covers is fine, leaving holes is not. The proviso is that anything that was mentioned in the property listing should be included. Radiator covers quite often are.

Oh, a catio is an outside run for cats.
