Anyone? Dh says no way. It’s something I’ve always wanted. Am I mad. Is it a bad idea?

I’ve been put off pools ever since a relative’s dog drowned in their neighbour’s when it fell in and was trapped under the cover and couldn’t get out.

I grew up in Aus and had one in both houses I lived in. It was used a lot when we were younger but less so as we got older, the novelty wore off.

We're now back in Aus and I wouldn't have one, too much work! There are lots of public pools where I live but lots of people have their own pools making the public pools actually fine to visit so dh takes the dc regularly.

Our near neighbours have an outdoor pool and turned it into a business as they have quite a large garden. They put a large dome over it to keep any noise down for the neighbours. They hire it out for individuals, families and partys.

My neighbours have one, and it's not heated, it's outside, and I have to say in the summer it's totally fine. They open it about may time, close it after the summer, and although I've only been in it during hot days, and clearly wouldn't wish to get in when it's cold, I think it's fine Unheated.

Their kids were in it Easter weekend, and they were having a blast by the sounds of it, so I can't see it being unheated as a major problem.

As such, I think that would keep the costs down.
