Posting in sections as wouldn't let me post in one go for some reason...

Hi, new to posting on the forum, but looking for some advice as getting a little overwhelmed with moving, and don't want to make an expensive mistake!

@CatchingBabies that is Hartford in America. Hartford High in Northwich has not been set in fire - pupil or parent The articles about anti social behaviour are also in America.
Please get your facts straight. Hartford is a lovely village and the school is excellent. @Zandana123 please ignore these articles as they are thousands of miles away.

This is an example of how easy misinformation become facts in peoples mind. I

Brilliant! Americans copying our place names does get confusing at times!Grin

Ended up applying for a rental in Hartford for short term and go from there! Really liked the feel of Hartford and davenham but feeling wasn’t there for middlewich despite both houses we looked at being lovely!

Great!! Glad you're getting sorted out.

User13355677743 · 16/04/2019 21:30

Hartford if you can afford private secondary, Sandbach if you can't. Middlewich, Winsford, Holmes Chapel, those secondaries are best avoided.

crimsonlake · 16/04/2019 23:04

If one of you has to commute to Warrington daily do not even contemplate travelling up and down the M6 from Sandbach daily as it is a nightmare.

RuggyPeg · 17/04/2019 07:31

Agreed, that particular stretch of M6 is horrendous, north and south but you're a bit screwed really, as you each need to get to Crewe and Warrington. One or both of you will have awful commutes, especially if you keep core time hours.

My wife is a nurse and does shift work so travels out of peak times. With the recently opened 4 lane stretches of all looks a bit better these days too.

I’m on flexitime so can choose when to travel to a point

@Hartford19 sorry I just saw this thread and find it very helpful as we are looking to relocate to Hartford. Please I would appreciate any information I get for schools for my 3 boys (10,7&2.5), activities, shopping etc. Also we would like a good school for my 7 year who is autistic.

PROPERTY AREAS advice please
Daughter to start at Leighton Hospital with commute Macclesfield & Stoke Hospital’s. Need enough to to entertain at weekends cafes / shopping / train options. Bypass on wrong side and road network very poor I have been told by estate agents..moving down from Glasgow so do not know areas. But like anywhere it has good and bad. Want safe commutable busy villages market town. Can anyone offer good advice thanks

Zandana123 · 30/06/2020 12:48

Most people around Leighton live in nantwich. Road is closed at the moment while they repair a bridge but will be sorted soon I guess! Nantwich is a nice Cheshire town

@Crathes
Boulderstones Bridge/A530 is closed (technically absent as they dismantled it last weekend Grin) until end of Nov, which cuts Nantwich off from Leighton Hosp.

Have you tried Haslingon (east side of Crewe) heading north towards Sandbach? If she's near(ish) to Crewe she can go pretty much anywhere by train.

GingerFluffycat · 30/06/2020 13:48

Did you end up in Nantwich then?

@Zandana123

Thank you all
