Vibrating tap when hot water is turned on - Help! PigletJohn??!

Regular but have name changed for this.

I had a shower yesterday morning, all was fine. Half an hour later one of the children turned on the shower and my kitchen tap started vibrating like crazy and water came out. I made him turn the shower off. We tried it later in the day (briefly - too briefly?) and it was fine.

This morning I turned the shower on and the same thing happened again. I turned it off and tried showering in our other shower (nowhere near the other one) and the same thing happened. It it only seems to be the kitchen tap that is doing this.

Do you think it’s a problem with the kitchen tap, or the hot water pipes or something else? For reference we have had problems with the kitchen tap in the past. It was fitted badly (apparently) and one day the spout came off (water gushed everywhere) and I then got a more competent person to fit it properly. Bristan Easyfit mixer tap.

Is it safe to use the hot water for a few days (until my local handyman can come and fix whatever is wrong - he’s away today) or do I need to get an emergency plumber out?!

Amount of water coming out of the kitchen tap is more then a trickle but not full flow.

P.S. using hot water from the kitchen tap doesn’t seem to be a problem (so far!)

I have this. When upstairs hot tap/shower are turned on in the morning there is house shaking pipe vibration and it doesn't happen when plumber comes as then has been used a few times.

Plumber tells me over the phone (after watching a video) that the washer in the kitchen tap has perished.

Fingers crossed that he’s right!
