Picking out laminate for bedroom?

We're doing our room in somewhat of a rush as just got the money and we're expecting our firsr child in a few months. For a while I wanted a walnut floor, white walls and black or white furniture. But recently seen this bed and love the design, showed it to DH and now his heart is set on it too! We could get it in black and stick to the original plans, but I really like it in the grey wash colour shown. We still want white walls as we're having an ikea open wardrobe dividing up the room as shown in pic two (but will be all white rather than the wood bits) but don't know what floor to have. I think the options are:

  1. White, either pure white or with a grey grain or pattern. Think this would look nice but will get so dirty!
  2. Pale grey- grey is so fashionable right now that it might look dated soon, and I think it might look a bit industrial rather than light and airy
  3. Matching the bed- this seems like the best option but can't find one that properly matches for less than £35/sqm which is about double our budget. There's plenty which sort of match but I don't know if that would look ok.

I'd love some opinions or ideas please! I don't really like carpet so will almost definitely be laminate.

Laminate will be noisy and cold. However I would go for a pale grey wood grain. If you can get it. Open shelving and clothes storage collects dust.

We've got laminate in the kids rooms for to allergies etc. We had a thermal/sound proofing type layer underneath which was worth it as the floors aren't cold or noisy. Also very easy to keep clean as they just don't trap dirt like carpet does.
I like the grey floor in your first pic.

Have you got decent floorboards underneath? They can look nice painted white or just varnished.

Of the laminate colours a very pale grey would be my choice. It may well go out of fashion but it will probably need redoing in 10 years anyway.

I'm not convinced about open wardrobes - pre kids its easy to have everything looking perfect, perfect then once you have a baby and one year old it gets harder and everything is on display.

Thanks all, shortly after posting this I found flooring that matches the bed pretty well and isn't extortionate, so we're most likely going down that route. Floorboards probably not in great condition as every other room hasn't been!
