White blinds look yellowish through double glazing

I have white vertical blinds but from outside through our double glazing they look a creamy yellow colour.

I was thinking of maybe changing the colour and/or type but worried that I'll be wasting more money if the colour is again distorted by the glass.

I just don't know what to do.

You could get samples (I think blinds2go still do free ones; I got some two years ago) - they aren't very big but you could see the colour through the window.

Thanks Awkward Paws, that's a good idea.

Does anyone in your home smoke, or burn candles?

Does it matter what they look like from the outside? You're on the inside. Save your money for something more important.

Double glazing will always distort what’s on the inside slightly.

Even in tinted glass has a colour to it due to the iron content.

To get perfectly clear uncoloured glass you have to buy low iron glass which is so expensive and therefore not used on windows

*untinted

Why does it matter what they look like from the outside? Confused

sighrollseyes · 16/03/2019 07:16

I have triple glazing and mine look a very very slightly blue tinge from outside but I couldn't actually give a shit what they look like from the outside - I don't really care what my neighbours think and I don't regularly stand outside my house looking at it!

glass used in double glazing now has a coating to reflect heat back into room - i makes it slightly tinted - older glazing doesnt have it so is clearer
