Will copper pendant lights look odd in my kitchen/diner

There would be two of them over the dining area. Rest of the kitchen diner has brushed nickel accessories, ie spotlights in kitchen area, handles, taps.

Kitchen units are ivory, flooring is medium oak, worktop a mottled sandy granite.

I’d prefer brushed silver pendant lights but I’m damned if I can find any at a reasonable price! Copper lights seem to be everywhere.

I think it would clash, sorry! Have you tried Wayfair?

whenthewhistleblows · 01/03/2019 16:17

I think it would clash too. Back to the drawing board!

I’ve tried:
Wayfair
Amazon
Dunelm
The range
B&q
Argos
Ikea
House of Fraser
John Lewis
Debenhams

Have I missed anywhere?!

Might end up having to go for white or glass.

Wheelerdeeler · 01/03/2019 19:50

LBOCS2 · 01/03/2019 20:19

Have you tried Iconic Lights?

Babysharkdododont · 01/03/2019 20:41

Where are you OP? There is a fab shop in Cardiff.....

tattooq · 01/03/2019 20:44

They look great, but in my experience give out very very little useful light.

Kintan · 01/03/2019 23:33

Have you tried Heals?

DianaT1969 · 01/03/2019 23:57

Cult Furniture
Scotlight
Castlegate lights
Ocean lighting

Going against the grain, apparently mixing metals is a big trend at the moment. So you could just go for it. Maybe trawl insta for examples?

whenthewhistleblows · 03/03/2019 10:10

Thanks for all the replies! I will check out the other sites and insta :)

I have copper pendants in my ivory/ oak kitchen which I love, and they don't clash with anything because I got a copper kettle/ toaster and other copper accessories.

This is true. My brother and his wife got rid of theirs - they said it made their kitchen feel like a gestapo questioning room.

sugarcubed · 03/03/2019 10:21

This trend has been going several years and is over, get some lights that will match or are more neutral at least.

flirtygirl · 03/03/2019 11:08

If you like copper then get them, who cares about trends and if they are over. Also mixing metals does work. Buy a cheap metal light from somewhere like dunelm, they have copper shades for under £10, take it home and see if you like the contrast and then return it. Then order or don't order the lights you like.

I have a copper and dark grey bathroom.
All over grey houses are boring and grey is apparently over but I go for what I like and not what is a trend or fashionable.
We are not exactly talking lime green and orange walls.
