Insurance during a house extension

Hello.
We are starting a single story extension and have just found out that our current insurers do not insure during any structural/external work and so therefore we need to cancel our current insurance policy and take out a new one.
We don't have much time so would really appreciate any intel about insurance companies who insure during a build. We'd be looking for both buildings and contents as we currently have them together.
Thank you very much in advance

We did this with John Lewis insurance. Get your builders insurance certificate for them in advance though

Did they give you a phone number to be referred through to if they’re not able to carry on insuring you? My insurers gave me the number for BIBA (British Insurance Brokers Association) - website here www.biba.org.uk/

Now, they put me through to another broker and I think we would both get money off for a referral. (I’m now insured by The Sally Army! Grin) PM me if you want the number of the broker who arranged my insurance.
