make your own roman blinds?
not that difficult

nomdeplume · 04/07/2007 18:33

it is tricky if you don't have 'stanrd' sized window sections though Hana. The roman blind kits with all the rods and track etc included only come in standard widths

[been there, tried that emoticon]

'standard'

obv

hana · 04/07/2007 18:34

oh - you don't need a kit though, I made some for most of our windows without the kits

Lucycat · 04/07/2007 18:37

Argos sell a roll of curtain track that curves round and you cut it to the right size.

we have one as our bay is 11ft.

How do you mean childproof?

nomdeplume · 04/07/2007 18:55

we have 2 15 foot bays in our house and they were a flaming nightmare to dress.

We shelled out for some lovely custom romans for the living room bay but for the bay in DD's bedroom I bought some special bendable Swish track, had to buy 2 as they don't do them in one long enough piece. I made the curtains myself with blackout lining and header tape, the works. Oh, and I am crappola at sewing but it was easy as pie. Time consuming though !

nomdeplume · 04/07/2007 19:01

This is my track

Hideehi · 04/07/2007 19:05

We had track and the buggers pulled it off, they have also ruined vertical blinds before now, the horrors.
Is track my best bet do you think ?

Get a bay window curtain pole and put up curtains. we've got one but it was left by the previous owners so i don't know how much they cost.
