Painting soffits and fascias

We are replacing some of our (many) windows and doors - but want to change colour.

The existing window frames, front door and all the fascias and soffits are mahogany/roseweood colour. Mostly in UPVC.

As we are trying to modernise somewhat- we fancy the anthracite grey for our window frames and patio door frames.

However there are a lot of dark brown other bits which might spoil the look.

We do plan to do ALL the windows at some point, but as we don't have an unlimited budget and are already doing a heck of a lot, have decided to prioritise one area of the house at a time.

Has anyone painted their dark brown UPVC areas in a different colour? Was it successful?

I've been looking on line and there is actually quite a choice of ways to go about it. We need to DIY though this time.

My advice would be that if you want to paint them in situ, you would have to think about the colour as you a lighter colour may not be the colour you want. With spraying too, any imperfections would show up. If you couldn't do all the windows at once, maybe a dark racing green would be better matched to the dark brown than the anthracite?
