This seems to be a huge problem here too, we have had so much trouble renting a property on hb. We did eventually find somewhere but it was a long slog, hope you find somewhere soon!

Is there anyway you can get a guarantor? When trying to find somewhere that takes HB for my brother we found this makes a massive difference.

i can get one of them will that help? even though the estate agents say no dss?

I just rang and explained that although he got HB he had a guarantor and that the HB was paid into his own personal account not the landlords so it would make no difference to the landlord at all. They don't like it when the HB is paid to the landlord as the benefits dept mess it up so often and the landlords don't get paid.

sounds promising thanks
fingers crossed
