How long to wait for a response fo an offer?

Me and my husband viewed a house yesterday early afternoon. The house has been on the market for approx 5 months and apparently has recently had a sale fall through! We liked the house but it needs a lot of work! We have made an offer yesterday evening of 7% below asking price which we think is reasonable comparing recently sold prices in the area and the amount of work which is required! We still haven't heard anything in response to our offer! Don't want to appear too keen but getting annoyed we don't know what they are thinking! We are second time buyers so get how it all works but never had to wait more than a day for an offer response!

Many thanks for any advice xx

We had to wait 2 days for the place we are in now, it's annoying but it all worked out

Assuming you're going through an agent, I would expect to to be Monday morning gwhen they're back at work

You made an offer on Saturday evening and are expecting your answer on Sunday? Hold your horses!

Well the agent they are with is purple bricks, all of the negotiations are dealt with online, weird I know! - hence why I could expect a response on a Sunday!!!!

If it's through Purplebricks, the sellers might not accept/reject through the system. We bought in the summer from PB, didn't hear for a day or so, then got a call from one of their "local property experts" to negotiate.
And when I say negotiate, he countered with a very slightly higher price, we snapped it up, and he seemed a bit put out Grin
We then had to log back in to make a new offer, and found out via text (complete with emojis Hmm ) from PB guy that the sellers would accept.
When we actually spoke to sellers, they said they'd been pressured by PB guy to "wait for him" and they'd have been happy to do it themselves.
Which is a roundabout way of saying you may hear from PB first. Good luck!

We’ve put an offer in this morning after a viewing yesterday and still no answer. They are considering ours and another offer apparently. We offered full asking price and are in a position to proceed but I’ve got a horrible feeling they are going to start a bidding war to get more money!

I can’t eat or think straight! It’s so stressful waiting isn’t it!

Did you add an exclamation mark at the end of the offer also?

We were waiting 2 days for some and a week to hear back on our accepted offer.
