I plan to do a side return and also knock through the wall between the reception and dining rooms. I appointed a surveyor who now done the survey with the neighbour’s appointed surveyor but have yet to issue the award. He just pointed out that I only told him about he side return not the wall removal so he needs to issue additional notice which would delay my project’s start date as 2 month notice is required. I queried why he missed the wall removal bit because it’s in the drawing, he said that i did not tell him by email (though I did tell him on the phone). Anyway he got upset by my questioning now he is pulling out the meter altogether, leaving me completely stuck and back to square one...
Has anyone come across situation like this? If I were to appoint a new surveyor, does the whole process need to be repeated? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
