How long and how much to decorate a 2 bed flat?

It's not a big flat - about 670 square ft. We are getting the ceilings painted by the managing agent as we had water damage. We need the walls and skirting boards and window frames. The walls will need some filling in and rubbing before they can be painted. How long do you think it would take to do this work and how much would you expect to pay? Is my husband delusional in thinking that he could take a week off work and get this done himself? We've had a guy come round who is due to get back to us but he said it would take him and another guy 2-3 weeks. Thanks.

Cost I am not sure, poss. £200 a day, but I certainly think your oh could do this in a week (7 days working, not five!). I could certainly do that kind of area in a week. Of course, it helps if your walls are in good nick; if you have got to strip wallpaper etc it's obviously more work.
I used to decorate around full time jobs. I would often be paintbrush in hand in the early hours. It was worth the hassle for the money saved.

We had similar done professionally once (had a tiny baby at the time). Took about a week and cost £1000 not inc paint. Easy to do yourself but expect to fork out for decent paintbrushes , dust sheets , stepladder etc if you don't already own them. It's quite hard work but easy enough.
