Ideas for where else to put overmantle mirror

Just that really. We moved house and our overmantle mirror is too small for the new chimney breast so we've bought a bigger one.

Where else can I put the old one? Or is it called overmantle for a reason?!

We have one in the hall....over the radiator. Great for a last minute check of how you look before you go out.

The only consideration for the mirror I can imagine is the weight and type of wall. I have an extremely heavy one which if it didn’t have the support of the mantle would need extra wall support. Otherwise it is really not much difference to any other mirror and as suggested over a radiator or a chest of drawers would look good.

it's useful to have a mirror near the front door so you can check yourself before leaving the house.

BTW the idea of a mirror above a fireplace is deprecated if you have a real fire with actual exposed flames.

The number of people burned when their clothes caught fire has dropped considerably since CH became common.
