Arrgh the rented property we are moving into is on a card meter system. How long would £14 last for?

Renting seems to be as much hassle as trying to buy and sale.

Rental agents didn't let us know about the card meter system until we went to sign the rental agreement today. The landlord is letting us change to a normal meter but Powergen can't come out until next Friday.

How long will £14 last?(the nearest place that sells the cards is about 15 mins away). We have a large fridge/freezer and I do at least 2 wash loads a day.

TIA

Fimbo..we moved about 8 weeks ago to a rented property with both the electricity and gas on a key and card. I thought i was going to hate it, but, i'm gradually seeing the pluses! You don't get unexpected bills dropiing on your doormat!

We have estimated that we use approx 80p per day, but round it up to a pound to make life easier. I also do at least two washes a day and hoover through at least once a day.

Hope this helps
