Living in Gunnersbury Triangle, Acton?

Hi All,

New to the forum and had some questions about a small’ish area of housing in London W3 which I’m hoping some of you might know more about than I do! Gunnersbury Triangle?

Basically we have been looking for a house in the Chiswick/Kew area for around a year with very little interesting us. An agent called my other half and told him to look at a house in a small area which is basically a triangle of homes opposite Gunnersbury Park (to the east) with a tennis club in the middle of it. Does anyone know it?

Wouldn’t buy a house on the North Circ but there are a few deeper in which seem to offer much better value that Chiswick/Kew whilst still being super close. Been back a few times and it doesn’t seem noisy (from the road) either which I was worried about.

The other half has done a sales pitch on me and won me over but thought it was worth asking here if anyone knew more?

Thanks all so much Smile

Nicky- we looked in that area around 10 years ago and were put off by the collection of rather busy roads all aroudn there and the consequent pollution issues (had small child at the time). I'd suggest you go speak with the neighbours for more info.

I know the area that you mean. There are lots of busy roads nearby, but it might be quieter in the roads that make up the area. It may be worth you posting on the local community forum, as you might find someone who lives there. This is www.actonw3.com.

I was trying to work out which primary school is the nearest to this area, but wasn't sure. I think that this would be an important factor.

Live nearby, is it St Columbus Tennis Club you mean or another one. Depending on the road ( some are rat runs) it would be fine and the roads are nice. You would be in the middle of lots of great areas. The park has undergone a great upgrade recently.

Hi all, thanks for your useful responses.

Fifibebe, the tennis club is the “Gunnersbury Triangle Sports & Social Club”. The roads are very nice from what I’ve seen and good to know they have improved the park.

Reasontobealive - good tip on the community forum, I’ll try it out! There are a few primary schools that look pretty good - a couple of independents and Berrymead/Lionel schools. The roads concerned me as well but once you’re deep into the area you’re well away from them and it seems quiet and not particularly polluted.

Dinkystinky - yes it concerned me as well but as I mentioned above it all seems to be ok when you’re deep in there. Spoken with some of the neighbours and they all seem very positive and pleasant which is very nice as well!

A little too close to the south Acton estate for my liking.
It is being regenerated, but still a bad reputation
