Karndean

Has anyone used this? Is it as good as they say it is?

Fab stuff-we have it in the kitchen -slate effect and it has fooled many people.
We have wood effect in the playroom.
Easy t oclean,hardwearing and we love it.
Be warned though-it isn't cheap....

I have the American Oak in my hallway and Soapstone in the kitchen.

The Soapstone is lovely (with American Oak between the tiles) and is wearing beautifully. The Oak in th hall not so good, bit scratched but it is very high traffic there.

It's important to get a really good fitter.

My friend has just had this in her kitchen and it looks lovely. I liked it, and we considered it, but went for porcelain tiles in the end because we preferred how they look (prefer the matt appearance over the quite glossy look of the vinyl), but the quality of Karndean certainly looks to be very good and I'm sure it will withstand years of heavy useage. Depending on which one you choose, it is guaranteed for up to 15 years I think.

thanks, i know how much it is but we can't have tiles (old, wonky wooden floor) & i don't think lino will wear well enough in the family bathroom.
saggar - we've sent for samples of the soapstone one, with some dark wood between.

I've had Amtico in my old house and have Karndean in my bathroom now. Have to say I think Amtico is better quality - the Karndean has scratched quite badly where the laundry basket has been pulled out -never had that happen with Amtico.

We had it at a previous house and Homebase do a very similar version of it now.

karndeen is worth every penny.... IMO

my uncle isa floor fitter and has it all through downstairs and loves it!

my mum has it AND loves it too, so do my bosses!
