Hanging pictures - walls too hard!

I’m trying to hang some pics but every time I hammer in a nail the wall is too hard and it bends and/or cracks the wall; sometimes a chunk falls out.

The wall is breeze block (that grey stuff) with what I assume is plaster over the top.

Please tell me what I should be doing?

You need to use a drill with masonry bits and screws / picture hooks

Or those command picture handing strips are very easy and very good

Amazon and ebay sell them as well

Thank you all so much!

I have used the command strips before but I’ve got a few things I’d also like to hang on a wall I’ve wallpapered.

Those three nail ones are good.

I’ve used command strips to hang my photos. 4 large ones will support 7.2kg apparently (although none of my pictures are that heavy).

My walls are as hard as diamond. Kill drill bits instantly.
