Blind ideas for bifold doors

Hello, I’ve browsed through previous threads but I couldn’t find any about this topic. Apologies if it’s been done to death!

Anyway, does anybody have any ideas for bifold door (or patio, French doors etc.) coverings? We have just moved into a new home with a kitchen diner. I don’t want to have curtains as I’m worried about smells and stains (two young and quite mucky children!!) clinging to them.

I’ve spoken to a neighbour who has clip in blinds but said they wouldn’t recommend them due to being quite flimsy. I’m now running out of ideas - I don’t want roller blinds or horizontal slat blinds either - and I want a bit of privacy.

Any help or ideas would be great - even if you can convince me that curtains would be a good idea as they won’t actually smell of food

Thank you in advance!!!

We have blinds on them. Nothing else worked. It is annoying. As lovely as the idea of a bi-fold door is, it is pointless in urban areas. I have no idea why we chose it in the first place.

Window stickers are super cheap and if applied really neatly look great.

We did the main section of the bi fold glass but left a substantial border around edge as not massively overlooked.

Stickers also let in the light still.

Not a cheap option but how about an awning outside? Provides shade in the summer (to patio as well as inside) and privacy at night (from neighbours looking down into your house), without blocking your view and access through the doors.

We have the 'perfect fit' clip in blinds your neighbour spoke and I don't find them flimsy at all. The only thing I would say is if your children are likely to run/fall into them then they might become damaged and are pricey to replace. But you could just have them up most of the time until you want some shade or privacy.

Luxaflex do full length blinds. You just get the number you need. Say three for bifold doors. You can get bespoke widths I think.

I have a single one on fairly narrow French doors and they work well. Not cheap though.
