Deposit money, anyone know how long it takes?

We are close to exchange. Solicitor has said the bottom of the chain just need to get their deposit in place. I am assuming this to mean that they need to draw some from the mortgage fund. Does anyone know how long this takes?

I would think it just means they need to transfer the funds to solicitor.
They wouldn’t necessarily take deposit funds from the mortgage

I didn't think you could use mortgage funds for the deposit? I've no idea really.
It's probably that they are getting it from their sources (savings accounts/family etc) and sending to the solicitor.

It should be a matter of days. They'll have had to prove they have the funds for their offer to progress onto solicitors, so unless they've blown the lot it should just be a case of sorting a transfer from eg ISA to bank then bank to solicitor, or even a direct transfer. A week tops

We recently bought, the solictors received our deposit within a day once we transferred the money over.
