There's lots of information online that suggests that you can build extensions in London for £2000 per m² but is it really possible? Are good builders prepared to take on 40k jobs?
I want to extend our living room about 14m² (3.5x4) and to keep costs down I'd be happy to just use existing patio door opening. So far, I've had trouble getting anyone out to quote so now I'm wondering about good solid roof conservatories.
I've been quoted 37k for a gable end design in grey aluminium with 2 velux, bifolds at end and one side and a full height wall on the other side. (A bit like this : www.conservatoryoutlet.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/solid-roof-orangeries-8-280x205.jpg )
I'm happy with how it looks (it's a very plain 60s house) but wonder how much more it would be for an extension that could be properly open to the house.
