...to a house that you are trying to sell?

Cheap for Harrogate though 🤷‍♀️

Bluntness100 · 28/08/2018 21:52

Meh, I wouldn't be bothered by the art. That's easy to deal with. The odd patio doors to the front and the weird brick and cupboard in the kitchen on the other hand,,,

Asdf12345 · 28/08/2018 21:53

To be honest I wouldn't be put off at all. Lots of hard standing, no garden to maintain, garage. Just needs a couple of coats of paint and job done.

I'd take it over something with a lawn to pave over any day.

HomeOfMyOwn · 29/08/2018 00:26

I was going to say it's obviously just their weird taste in art and haven't thought about changing the house to sell - BUT the ad says "newly refurbished" - why the hell would you refurbish to sell but paint art like that onto the actual walls!

SimonBridges · 29/08/2018 00:35

Not to my taste but it is clean and seems well maintained.

Nothing a big pot of paint won’t sort.

SimonBridges · 29/08/2018 00:36

I do need to know what is behind this door.

Grasslands · 29/08/2018 00:43

nothing really vile, someone when to art college big deal.
if it isn't to your taste you simply paint over it.

BigBlueBubble · 29/08/2018 00:56

Anyone with common sense would paint over the “art” before trying to sell. If only because people will ask for a discount as they’ll have to redecorate.

mathanxiety · 29/08/2018 00:59

I would be more concerned about the paved back garden and the weird patio doors to the front.

ineedtostopbeingsolazy · 29/08/2018 01:39

The patio doors at the front is a bit strange. But apart from the massive busty blonde in the kitchen it's a nice house.
Might need to paint the garage doors though

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/08/2018 06:38

Anyone with common sense would paint over the “art” before trying to sell. If only because people will ask for a discount as they’ll have to redecorate. Yup! Regardless of anyone's assessment of their taste - and you do put your home up for judgement and even ridicule when it goes on the market - the first thought of every potential buyer will be "How much will it cost to get rid of that?"

Making your home stand out for the wrong reasons won't help sell it at a good price, or quickly!

sleep5 · 29/08/2018 06:43

You could easily paint over the art. Shame they've used ugly white guttering and downpipes - their neighbours have black which looks much nicer.

FlyingMonkeys · 29/08/2018 06:58

I personally like the twee straw hat randomly plonked above the bed and the grim bedspread on the other. Bit of a contrast to the 'Viz fat slag' esq kitchen art.

joeybarnett · 29/08/2018 10:11

Haha! This is brilliant! Yikes!

Despite the erm, quirkiness it's still a lovely house!

POPholditdown · 29/08/2018 10:18

I do need to know what is behind this door.

Me too! I can’t see a cooker in the kitchen photos, maybe it’s in there?

Anyone available to view it and let us know?Grin I would but I’m nowhere near there.

Bluntness100 · 29/08/2018 10:22

Yes I'm curious about what that whole thing is too...

wowfudge · 29/08/2018 10:25

The cooker is clearly shown in photo 4.

POPholditdown · 29/08/2018 10:25

Nevermind, just checked again and the cooker is quite clearly in the photos 🤦‍♀️

Log burner?

SausageOnAFork · 29/08/2018 16:58

According to the floor plan it’s the cupboard under the stairs. But why such a door?

Why, just why would you do this...
brizzledrizzle · 29/08/2018 19:29

Look on the bright side - you'll easily be able to get your stuff in and out of the lounge, then you can replace the patio doors.

The terrible interesting decor is soon painted over and you might be able to discuss the cost of replacing the garage door as presumably buyers won't be flocking to the door.

5000KallaxHoles · 30/08/2018 07:28

There's a house near us that's been up for sale for ages - because it's one half of a semi where the neighbours have moved in and painted the entire exterior of the house bright bright pink - right down to their half of the chimney. The EA photos have been very carefully taken to hide this fact - but you can't exactly miss it!

Bloody shame since there's a lot of house there and it's in catchment for outstanding schools but even with my desperation to move into walking distance to school... no way.

AgathaF · 30/08/2018 08:42

I've seen much worse. It just needs painting over and maybe a bit of work in the kitchen for the strange grey door, and the living room sorting the fireplace out. Otherwise it's very clean and tidy looking, the walls look fairly newly plastered, carpets are in good condition. Outside slabs can be lifted and grass replanted. Nothing there that's going to be too difficult.
