Can anyone tell me what this specific colour Is?

I've spent the entire evening looking for a similar coloured bedspread and I can't find it.

I'm looking for it in a double size. There are plenty of duck egg coloured ones but not a brighter blue. If I knew the name of the blue colour, I might be able to search under that.

Can anyone tell me what this specific colour Is?

Maybe a cornflower blue?

WhatsInAnotherNameChange · 22/08/2018 01:17

Powder blue.

MargotLovedTom1 · 22/08/2018 01:18

Powder blue?

WhatsInAnotherNameChange · 22/08/2018 01:18

Sorry.

Google image search for Powder Blue

MargotLovedTom1 · 22/08/2018 01:18

Snap!

DramaAlpaca · 22/08/2018 01:19

Yes, powder blue.

MargotLovedTom1 · 22/08/2018 01:20

I hadn't seen your post name change. The question mark was more as a way of saying "Could it be powder blue?" to the OP.

Looks a bit like French Grey, try the Farrow and Ball colour chart.

FlyingMonkeys · 22/08/2018 01:22

Baby blue, sky blue, Cyan, Azure?

concretesieve · 22/08/2018 01:23

Another vote for Powder Blue. The colour of my secondary school shirts.

BlueJava · 22/08/2018 01:25

Ask Farrow and Ball - it's on their website eu.farrow-ball.com/pws/Content.ice?page=light-affects-colour&pgForward=content&

Thank you all so much.

I don't suppose might know or be bored enough to try to help me locate a bedspread in that colour? Please.....?

I have googled again to no avail.

I think F&B have had that image up for years. They won't know where I can get that bedspread although probably in the US as all the bedspreads I have found tonight seem to be there!

The problem is that furnishing manufacturers can make up all kinds of names for the colours they use, without there being any standardisation. That could be a Sky Blue, a ( Blue shaded) Teal, some Duck Egg blues are quite lot brighter brighter and bluer than others, light blue , aqua.

WomblingWoman · 22/08/2018 01:52

I'm pretty sure I have that in my house.

It's a Laura Ashley Duck Egg bed throw that they don't sell anymore - same with the patterned pillows (which I don't own).

I think it looks "bright" in the picture because the walls look a bit green iyswim.

Thank you so much. The Zara home site isn't opening for me and I can't open your link. I was on the website earlier. Is it a baby blue waffle type blanket? I remember putting one in my basket and then was unsure and kept looking......

I'm away from home or I'd take a photo to show you. I'm pretty sure I'm right.

WomblingWoman · 22/08/2018 01:59

So LA - since I bought mine have a new "blue" called sea spray. Might work for you?

Can anyone tell me what this specific colour Is?
Watchingtheworldgoby · 22/08/2018 02:04

Laura Ashley! The one place I haven't searched tonight!!!!! Is it quilted or wool type material Wombling?

Thank you so much!

They have similar type ones on the website but it is hard to know what colour is the most like the one in the image. The colours can be quite different on a computer screen and in real life

Does anyone care to hazard a guess?

It's a quilted semi sheen cotton - the one on the picture.

I'm pretty sure I'm right as it has beading on it that in your photo just looks like fuzzy edges.

The Duck Egg comes up very green on the website - but it's truer to the colour you first posted in real life.

The sea spray is a deeper blue (my mum has a room in this colour). It looks quite grey on the website but it's not like that when you see it. It's a richer darker blue but not grey.

I'm pretty sure you can order colour swatches from LA - I'd be tempted to to that.

Watchingtheworldgoby · 22/08/2018 02:50

Thank you Wombling.

I have spent nine whole hours looking for it this evening!!! At least I now know where to get them. I don’t want to order both as they are too expensive and it is hard to know if the duck egg will be a brighter blue. F&B will have purposefully used the bedspread as a contrast to bring out the hue of the paint.

I think a quilted version is better than a throw as it is neater looking though the sea spray one looks very very big. On the other hand the wool ones are a lot cheaper.

All the LA ones are a great colour. I didn’t realise I could order swatches. I will look into that rather than order/return/reorder.

I'm sure they had this bed cover in Laura Ashley many years back mascarading under duck egg blue

Watchingtheworldgoby · 22/08/2018 11:34

Helpinfalling By any chance do you know if LA call this colour duck egg? They have another one in stock that they have called duck egg. I wonder if what they call duck egg is nearer to what I am looking for than the sea spray colour?

I’m pretty sure I have that blanket. If so it’s not a breadspread, just a big blanket. Mine came from John Lewis about 10 years ago.

Helpimfalling · 24/08/2018 05:35
