Lovely terrace, one house knocked down?

Wondering what other people would say about this. In other circumstances, we'd have put an offer in straightaway. Terraced street of six largish houses, the end terrace has been knocked down recently (so you can still see internal walls etc). Estate agent says it's to do with the neighbouring plot being built on. It looks awful but the house itself is perfect. Any thoughts? Thanks!

It's not the house you are buying that has the house next door knocked down, is it? If so, there is no way I would buy it. If your proposed house is at the other end of the terrace I would make some enquiries. How long has it been like this? Why was the house knocked down? (Structural problems?) What is being built there and when?
To be honest it doesn't sound very appealing. A vacant building site is a magnet for dumping, and if they build soon (no guarantee) you will also have the noise, dust and inconvenience. You could try the local council planning website to see if there are any plans in.
