Help me choose some tiles!

I’ve attached a photo of our new kitchen. On the second photo is a feature tile which I wanted as a splash back all the way up just behind the oven, then wanted white walls everywhere else. Taking the previous tiles off has been difficult so the walls aren’t in a state that we can paint them, and we don’t have the budget to have the whole kitchen replastered. DP thinks that we should tile the splashback with the feature tile then everywhere else with a plain white subway tile. I think it will be too much. Another option is to find a different tile that would look ok for all around the edges and the splashback and not use the feature tile. Any opinions?

I think his idea is lovely if you put black grout in. It will break up the white. And then you can accessories with things like colourful kettle or toaster.

I like his idea. I might use a square tile though to match the square shape in the feature tile.

Yes to a plain tile same size and shape as the feature tile but with grout to pick up the grey/black of the feature tile.
