Outdoor light with sensor stuck on

I have a light above the front door with a sensor. I’ve just noticed it’s stuck on and I’m not quite sure what to do about it? Do you reckon I should buy a new one and get an electrician to install it? Could get an electrician out to look at it but don’t want to call them out twice if they can’t mend it and they say it needs to be replaced.

it is one of those where you have to faff with the on/off switch to "arm" it

my mother's is wilful if the power goes off, ...if you have had one of those fierce thunder storms maybe that upset it?

Have you checked for cobwebs on the sensor? That can make them stay on.
You must have a switch to turn it off somewhere in the house.
A new pir light isn't expensive, if that cheers you up at all!

I don’t think I do have an on/off switch?! I could try turning off the power to see if that works. Good idea to check for cobwebs.

You can alter the sensitivity on most of them and also how long they stay on once triggered.

We had this. Turn off the switch on your circuit board which includes this outside light. Leave it off for a few minutes, then turn it back on. This resets the light. Worked for me but had to do it fairly regularly, have since replaced the light.
