Rainfall showers, any good?

We are dithering about showers and NEED to make a decision. We are considering a Aqualisa Aquavalve 700 on PigletJohns recommendation Grin but my head is being turned by the pretty Aqualisa Midas with the rainfall shower head and hose shower option . We are having a megaflow installed if that makes any difference! I'm torn and am sick to death of reading about showers! I've never been in a rainfall shower, are they less powerful than a regular one? Do they use a tonne of water? We are on a water meter now...

Oh yes, Ifonlyiweretaller

Our shower cubicle is 1400x800 and the controls are facing you as you get in the shower, so you can stand to one end, switch it on & wait for the hot water to come through. No reaching under the shower (and getting wet hair) to switch it off or adjust the temperature.

Not a fan. Style over substance. Like others have said, if you don't want to wash your hair, you have to lean sideways the whole time. DDad has one in a fairly small cubicle, and I'm literally pressed up against the glass. That's why men like them, as they generally wash their hair every time they shower. Also, the water is more "dispersed", so if you do wash your hair, rinsing it takes longer.

I have an Aqualisa pumped shower with quite a big showerhead, but it's on a riser, so if I'm not washing my hair I just move it down to shoulder height. If I need to direct the spray at all I can unhook it. This is also very handy for cleaning.

I have the aqua Luisa ilux digital and have a rainfall and regular head. I mainly use the regular one my husband uses it more. It is nice though. You need a big walk in shower.
