Hi we (me, my husband and two boys aged 4 and 1) are thinking about moving close to the Ray Lodge Estate in Woodford Green. Does anyone know if its a safe place to live with children? I have read lots of different reviews about the area.

Thanks very much. Julie

hi Julie, I lodged in a 2 bed flat last year for 7 months on that estate.

Felt perfectly fine although occasionally residents (one in particular) would play very loud music in his car when he came home late at night (11pm/12midnight). On the weekends also some men around fiddling with their cars/bikes etc.

I never felt unsafe although the alleyway between the townhouses and the day care center didn't feel very nice to walk through. The walk to the station is fine although not very pretty - barber shops and a couple of random junk shops selling nylon bags and surplus hoodies.

Thank you. I feel a little better about the move. I guess moving is stressful anyway but with children it feels 100 times worse.
