Corner sofas

I am thinking (very tentatively) of getting a corner sofa to replace our current two sofas. However, the two sofas we have are both loose covered, and this is important to me as we have a dog and I like to be able to have removable covers for washing. The only two sofas I have found that fit that particular bill are one from dfs, who I don't rate at all (had one crap sofa from them years ago) and the ektorp from ikea, which looks a bit small (currently have a 4 seater and a 2 seater). The alternative would be leather, where there is plenty of choice. Can anyone who has a leather sofa tell me if they are prone to scratching from dog claws? Also, do you find leather comfy or rather cold and slippery? How well does it wear? Thanks.

I wouldn’t personally have leather with claws as I’ve seen some scratches ruin one before

Ikea do have a new sectional corner sofa with loose covers, named Gronlid which you can construct to the shape you want, we are looking at it as our room is an odd shape

Thanks - I'll have a look.

I have a massive corner sofa from dfs. I had no choice other than them after a run of sofas that looked pretty but were really uncomfortable it had to be from somewhere I could go andlounge on an actual sofa for hours before I bought it. Was dreading it but hoped it’d last a few years.
It’s 4 years old now and has stood up to three children, a Dalmatian and a cat. Washes up really well.
Had a leather chair before we got this sofa and the dog did scuff and scratch it leaping on and off so leather was definitely out when we went shopping.

Thanks, think I'll discount leather then!

We have a corner sofa from Nabru which has loose covers. They also do a range of covers so that if you change your decor, you can change the colour of your sofa. Their sofas are all self assembly so that you can have a variety of combinations. We were a bit unsure about them when we found them online so visited their showroom and came away impressed. Our sofas are 3 years old now and still look good & feel comfortable.

We've got the Ektorp, it's absolutely indestructible! Have had it for 15 years, it copes with 5 tall people plus big dog. It's also got the (comfortable) sofa bed & big pull out storage drawer. It's still going strong despite having been bounced on/arms and back sat on etc. Covers wash well (although to do the whole thing is a faff).

Thanks both, I'll have a look at Nabru, and perhaps a visit to ikea is in order.
