Garden offices, any advice or recommendations?

Am looking at getting a small garden office.

Budget about 10k to inc installation and the electrics done on the office side. I need to be able to use it all year round so good insulation needed. Can be quite small I guess, need space for a desk for a laptop with chair and a bookcase to store a few files. But that’s it.

Any recommendations on companies who are good would be appreciated. Or even advice about size as I can’t quite visualise what 3mx3m is like compared to 2.5m x2.5m......might have to mark it out in the garden!

No idea I’m afraid but bumping for you as I’m interested in one too.

3 x 3 is actually 50% bigger than 2.5×2.5 So a huge difference

Yes, do mark it out in the garden where you would like it to go. Ensure you don’t need pp. We have a building from Garden Afdsurs but there are plenty of companies to choose from.

I think £10,000 is a bit light to get an insulated building with heating and power for use year round. The better the building is for year round use, the more it costs and you need a foundation slab too. The
cost of this must be factored in plus a decent roof and double glazing.

bubbles which one did you get from garden affairs and would it be warm enough with an oil filled radiator to use all year?

We got a lovely garden office from this company www.thecedarroomltd.co.uk They were happy to work to our budget. It's extremely well made and we use it year round, even in the depths of winter.

OTOH a friend bought a basic garden office kit then paid a handyman to erect it, insulate etc and an electrician to do electrics. Cost them a lot less but was considerably more hassle.

We have a basic softwood garden office _ 44mm walls and insulated floor. Last winter (OK it was very cold) needed a permanent heater plus thick jumpers to be able to work out there! Your budget should get you a fully insulated garden room I would think.

BTW I would personally recommend a fan heater rather than an oil heater to warm up the room really quickly. We've got a programmable one with a timer and thermostat, works really well and doesn't appear to cost us huge amounts.
