You need to give your solicitors details to the estate agent who will produce a memorandum of sale to go to both parties solicitors to start the ball rolling. Have you found a property to buy? If so solicitors details to agents dealing with that property.

You need to get your mortgage application in if one is required so they can arrange forca mortgage valuation to be done and arrange for a more comprehensive survey if required.

You will receive a pack from your solicitors with various forms to fill in including the fixtures and fittings form which details everything you are leaving in the property. Fill these in asap and send back so your solicitor can forward them on to your purchasers solicitors.

Then you wait for the solicitors to do various searches and ask questions.

Then hopefully to get close to exchange of contracts and you will need to agree on the completion date which is when all monies change hands and you move out.

Dont forget that it can all fall apart until exchange of contracts so the soonervyou get tonthis point the better.

Most house sales/purchase takes 3-4 months from start to finish.

Good luck.
