Roman or roller blind with curtains?

We are having a very lightweight linen fabric for blinds in our bedroom for privacy in the day and curtains for blackout at bedtime.

The blinds will be permanently closed the curtains only at night. We've chosen Clarke & Clarke Midori in the colour polar.

Question is should we have a roller blind or a roman blind?

If we go for a roman should we go in or outside the recess? As they will be closed all of the time we want the to look nice and as if the room is 'dressed'

I can't decide!

If the blind it always down then a roller makes more sense I guess as a Roman blind looks better up, and the both look the same down really. A roller blind will be smoother and not have any string etc.
