Help with new kitchen and lounge layout

Hi everyone,
I'm about to renovate my whole downstairs - this is something I've never done before so very nervous!
Attached is the architects drawing that I have modified with the kitchen layout idea - any thoughts on this please?
The lounge I'm really stuck with!! Other than having a log burner I haven't a clue how to lay it out. I dislike that the fireplace will be uneven and so not sure what to do with the gaps either side?
I guess the bigger side lends itself to a large TV but I also don't like a large TV being a focal point and would like somehow disguise it.
I've done tonnes of research and saves on pinterest but nothing seems to work for the lounge.

Thanks in advance xx

I just realised the exisiting layout may help, it's having a 3 meter extension on the full width of the rear of the build

I would put bookshelves either side of the wood burner and a tv on one of the larger shelves. Then I would put an l shaped sofa and a couple of arm chairs in a u shape, roughly facing the wood burner. Doesn’t need to be symmetrical

Do you think you might need a door directly to the lounge from the hallway - top right hand corner - in case you dont want to take guests through your kitchen?

I am renovating and will have the same issue as you with respect to fireplace not being central in the room - it is winding me up and I am thinking to extend the width of the chimney breast to make it symmetrical!

Thank you @nottheretoargue and @another20
I’m worried a tv on the book shelves might take over the room a bit but not sure what else to do. This is where I have provisionally thought of placing it Smile
Hadn’t thought about an additional door! Shock
