Neighbours noisy kids...

Hi, so the story is - neighbours moved next door a few months ago, they have 3 kids - 2 boys aged around 8-12, and a toddler about 18 months. The baby cries a lot, it doesn't really bother me as I understand babies cry. The problem is the two older kids. Their bedroom is next to my son's room, he's only 2 and is picking up words well now. They are non stop playing computer games, shouting and screaming and fighting each other - and practically every other word is a swear word. Like f*k ct etc. I've even heard them saying things like retard, spazz and ni*er! Like wtf! Their parents never tell them off or tell them to stop swearing. I wouldn't even mind if they were a bit noisy and they were just having fun. But they're just devil spawn. When they're not at school it starts at 7 and can go on til 11. And with it being so hot we like to keep the windows open but its ridiculous they're keeping my son awake with their screaming etc and I'm worried he's going to start copying them. I've been round and asked them if they can keep it down already and it lasted probably half an hour. What to do? I'm thinking I'll start recording them and then go and have a word with their mother and if it doesn't stop to report them?

Don't suppose you live in colchester?
Same issue here, luckily I live across the road rather than next door, but like you said in this heat with the windows open you hear it from 7am to approx 11pm. Don't have any advice unfortunately, good for you for going round im too much of a coward the parents here are more shouty and sweary than the kids!

No I don't live in Colchester. Ugh isn't it frustrating they drive me mad! They are still at it now but they're laughing for a change. They had 10 minutes in the garden earlier as well which was a surprise lol. I couldn't not go round I was too angry (but still polite). Thankfully the mother seems nice enough so that's why im thinking if i make recordings of the language then I'll go round and have a word with her and say if it doesn't stop I will have to report it. Not sure what would come of it though so not sure if it'd be worthwhile. Hopefully it won't come to that as I'm going to report a couple of other neighbours for their dogs barking non stop, council are going to think I'm a right moaning bitch Grin

Might we wise to "record a birthday greeting to grandma" and then realise, in the background, is their noise, rather than just out and out recording them. IYSWIM

The kids will probably be shocked that you can hear them so clearly ! And the parents might be unaware of the cussing ?

You can by sound insulation from Amazon and other places that could help too ( ok - not when both windows are open )
