What colour picket fence

Hi all

I'm planning on painting the picket fence out the front of our house and looking for colour suggestions? House is fairly standard seventies end terrace with white boarded cladding over the top half and exposed brick at the bottom (not a nice shade of brick sadly). Envelope runs around the whole of the front garden.

I'm not sure if White will be too much white but worried a contemporary dark grey will look really out of place.

Any suggestions?

White or pale sage green. I think grey will just look drab.

Black or dark grey looks great (check out Pinterest) if you want a modern look.

Are you prepared to re paint every couple of years for ever and ever and ever?
(Ours gets an occasional coat of preserver, twice in 20 years. Next door's white wood looks dreadful, even though it was painted a few years ago, and now the wood is rotting.)

Zadocthepriest am I your neighbour? I have the white painted Pickett fence that is difficult to keep looking great for long. We painted it a couple of yrs ago and after one storm it was covered in dirt again. And yes, it is now rotten in places. We bought our house with it but we are going to replace it soon when we do our drive.

Keep it natural. Do not paint. It is also a fuff painting as you get to paint each individual spindle. It was a pain and boring. Bitter experience
