Matt kitchen tiles - how to make them glossy?

Hi all,
The backsplash tiles are lovely but they look really dull (non glossy types). Is there anyway I can make them glossy?

Nope. If you want glossy you will have to retile. Any paint or varnish will chip quickly and need redoing within a year or so.

Would nail varnish work?

Mishappening · 19/07/2018 21:39

I covered my tiles with stick-on ones I bought online - I know it sounds naff but they are great.

Nail varnish is flammable. I wouldn't risk it in a kitchen

Hi Mishappening what website did you get those from as I looked at some but have never was sure if they’d be ok. Thanks

Some sort of clear varnish

You can get tile paint but I've actually no idea how good it is. (I used to work in a DIY shop. Many years ago.)

I wonder if floor tile sealant would work, it brings back the shine. Or a polyurethane varnish.
