Any experiences with terracotta tiles welcomed. We have terracotta tiles in our kitchen/hall/downstairs bathroom already and are having a garage conevrsion which we want to tile too. Looking for advice on:
- whether to buy unsealed or presealed terracotta tiles. Presealed are the same price and seem an awful lot easier. There's a more limited range though and the ones we like best are not available presealed. Any downsides to the presealed ones? Does it really last well? Anyone who has laid unsealed ones - did builders/tilers manage to seal them adequately well? It sounds idiotproof - is this really the case?
- What to do about current terracotta floor which is in need of a good clean and reseal. Just got a quote for £3200 which seems ridiculous for the approx 20-25sqm area that needs sorting. They are not in dreadful condition by any means. Is this just how much it costs?
