We are having a garden room/summer house installed at the end of the garden, which gets lots of sun. It will be 4.5 metres wide and 3.5 metres deep with bifolding doors pretty much the width of the house. We will put a patio outside with a gas bbq down the side of the summer house. We intend having seating for 6 and a table on the patio, plus a massive parasol, and have all weather lounge type furniture in mind.
We will still have our teak table and seating for 6 on the patio by the house.
How big to go with the patio? The garden could take patio of about 15 or more feet deep, and leave enough space for the trampoline and football playing area (both essentials!). We need the patio to wrap around one side of the house to put the bbq and a food prep table. I don’t want to go too small, as the bifolds will fold outwards and eat into the space slightly. But I don’t want the patio to be imposing either, especially as the summer house will be a big change in how the garden feels and works.
