Gloss or matte kitchen cupboards??

I know I want white kitchen cupboards and have found some I like from Diy kitchens. So know I need to decide if I want gloss or matte, but I can't decide Confused. So I'm looking for advice please. My thoughts are that matte will show marks less but gloss will be easier to clean. Help me make my mind up!

Matt. Gloss show every handmark and finger print and streaks can be left behind after cleaning. Plus gloss are starting to look a bit dated now imo.

I was there today! Matt def. I rubbed at both for a good bit. I didn't notice any real marks. I brought home a high gloss sample door...dd was eating a cake. I asked her to touch the sample... instant messy marks. So I'm thinking Matt for sure😁

We got the carrera in Matt white from DIY Kitchens. I didn't want gloss and DIY seemed to be the only place that did Matt white not cream. It wipes clean easily and love that there are no groves for the muck to hide in. My sil has a gloss white and there isn't any difference in cleaning hers and cleaning mine.

Matte

Depends on the material and colour but I would go for matt.

We've got a gloss diy kitchen and will go for matt next time (highly recommend diy kitchens!) - gloss shows every little smear and unless you have handleless is actually a pain to wipe. For the same reason I would never go for glass splashbacks again!

Matt. Gloss are a PITA to keep clean.

I have the matte white diy kitchen one. It's great. Easy to wipe down

I liked my gloss cabinets and will be ordering gloss again.

Matt. Aside from the cleaning issues, word on the design blogs (if they are to be believed) is that gloss has jumped the shark.

Well that looks like 9 for matte and only 1 for gloss. Thanks everyone.

I take the points about gloss being not on trend but I doubt our kitchen will be cutting edge as far as design goes!

The plus point about the gloss showing sticky marks is that you can get rid of them before they build up to a sticky mess because you saw them in good time. I'm finding the gloss cabinets that we inherited very easy to keep clean.

Phantommagic · 13/07/2018 08:46

Gloss. No issues with marks at all and some matt can look cheap imo.

greendale17 · 13/07/2018 08:47

I think gloss looks dated now
