Tricky bedroom layout (with plan)!

This is the large master bedroom in the house we get the keys to next week. House needs work and I'm not sure how to arrange the master.

DH thinks we should go with the pic below, but wardrobes will obscure the small window.

I'd rather do built in wardrobes in the alcoves, accepting that there won't be as much storage. Also considering putting the bed on the right hand wall facing the fireplace.

Thoughts? We have a lot of clothes but I don't want to block in an entire window either.

Could you build fitted wardrobes on the long wall where the bed is on your picture? You could have them going round the corner into the first alcove if you wanted more space, and if have the bed opposite the fireplace wall.

I would keep the main wardrobe but lose the ends that disrupt the door and window. I’d then build additional storage either side of the fireplace. I think moving the bed to the right hand wall would block the entrance as you come into the room

Haha you've both said what I want and the other what DH wants!!! I thought about a corner unit into the alcove. I think walking into a bed feels better than walking into the side of a wardrobe?

I know it's not pax wardrobes that your looking at but we found the IKEA pax planner very helpful for bedroom layout as you can put stuff in and the see the room 3d and it's also free and easy to use ( I say that as I struggle with things like this from time to time )

When you get the keys you can try the bed in the 2 positions and see how it feels :)
