How long......?

Trying to gauge a rough idea of how long it takes from enquiries being raised and completion.

We have been going since the end of January and the person at the bottom of the chain has only just received their searches back late last week. I spoke with their EA today and she informed me that the solicitor was looking over it today and would then be raising enquiries.

The rest of the chain were really hoping to be moved by the end of July.

Is this realistic?
Feeling completely fed up with the whole thing!

TIA

About 6 weeks in my very limited experience!

This dotted line is the piece of string.......…........................ it is one of those things that has so so many variables that you can't really give an average. Have a look at the waiting to exchange thread and see all the different timescales and the issue why.

Why is the person at the bottom of the chain only at this stage now? Did they lose their buyers or the buyers have mortgage issues or have they delayed completing the forms? To be fair, if that's all that needs to be done you could be looking at exchanging within a week or so as once their solicitor is satisfied everything is in order it's a matter of getting the deposit monies from the bottom of the chain buyer and drawing down the mortgage funds (if applicable).

you can ask to shorten time between exchange & completion which may speed things up - you will need provisional dates if you are using moving firms - suggest (if you haven't already!) that you pack as much as possible so if you do narrow the time frame you wont be going manic (or book them to pack) I have heard of exchange & completion being done same day - but I can imagine all sorts of problems!

Thank you everyone for your replies. I think I’ve got some investigating to do to work out exactly where we are at and why they are so slow!
We’ve started packing, it’s incredible how much stuff you accumulate when you have a baby!! Although looking at all the boxes is making me even more impatient!
