I need to buy a replacement one of these but the local excellent hardware shop doesn't have them so I need to look online but I have no idea what to search for.

Answers on a postcard...

It's called hafele can screw. Screwfix sell them.

Or cam dowel

PigletJohn · 04/07/2018 13:39

"CAM" not "CAN"

used on self-assembly furniture and some kitchen units to hold two parts together

the second part might still be in the furniture piece

This verbose fellow has one. You might like to turn the sound off. He's very annoying

whyareyoucrying · 04/07/2018 13:52

Yeah auto correct is a pain.

Thank you!

I've still got the round bit inside the kitchen drawer. It's odd - one of these cam screws just sheared clean in half, hence me looking to buy a replacement.

If it's Ikea and you have one near to you, they will give you a replacement for free at the Customer Service desk

Thanks. I don't actually know if the units are Ikea. They look ancient and already looked very dated in 2012 (when I moved in) but I'm rather fond of my non-modern kitchen so I'll keep patching up as it disintegrates Smile
