Using exterior wood paint for bricks?

I've got a small area of wall beneath garden steps which I want to paint a bright colour but all the masonry paints are muted tones.

Exterior wood paint comes in all sorts of lovely colours. I've got some wooden outdoor chairs I also want to paint so I was wondering if the wood paint would also work on the brick.

Can it work or will the dry brick slurp up the paint?

Maybe if I primed the brick beforehand with something? If so what?

First own garden ever so want to get it looking ace asap!

Thanks

I’ve noticed that Cuprinol Garden shades is suitable for use on brick.

It says so on their site at the top of this page-

I’ve only used their urban slate on a wood fence but it was great to apply and has been ace since, so I can image it would work well on brick. Lots of colours to choose from too.
